For the North Dutch Film Festival party at theatre the Harmony in Leeuwarden, we extended the Nou&Herkauw basic principle of starting with nothing and creating everything instantly, to a music and visual performance. Electronics musician Dennis van Tilburg build up a composition of live samples he extracted from a live jam session with singer Merel van Dijk , keyboardist Laurens van der Meulen and drummer Adrian Groffen. Together they created a soundscape the took the audience on a journey through jazz, dance and noise soundscapes
For the visual performance we connect with the music with speakers . Through the vibrations of the music from the speakers patterns emerged in several materials in small boxes placed on the speakers . Liquids , beans , beads , cornstarch. Furthermore, we used a dictation program to convert spoken words into typography visuals and our home made buffer,loop,sequence and animation tools.
