Creating a stop motion movie is great. Really special it is in 3D! You create a spatial animation which comes to life through special 3D glasses.
In 3D Stop Motion Studio you can using clay, cardboard and various objects to animate. By using a webcam with a dual lens, the film is recorded in “stereo view”. The right side webcam lens makes the movie for your right eye, the left one for your left eye. You can watch the animation using a special “stereo view” glasses. It looks like you step into the world of the movie you just made.
The “stereo view” technology is now also used in the VR (Virtual Reality) glasses, such as the Oculus Rift. But the technique is almost as old as the invention of photography.
After making the animation, you get the “stereo view” glasses to take home. With these glasses you can also see many other 3D movies on Youtube. Then use the search: yt3d: enable = true. This works in Safari and Explorer.
On our YouTube channel you can watch all the movies that were made during the Media Art Festival 2015 and Cinekid 2015. For example the movie by Annerie and Marieke.
